Kirk: This ‘game’ is awful! Black and white so-called graphics (actually large black squares), no sound (subtitles warn you of the monster’s approach), infinitely repetitive and simple gameplay. The beast itself is made up of letters such as ‘X’ and ‘I’, and more large black squares.
Also, no photon torpedoes were loaded in our test starship.
All in all, this is bollocks. 1%
Spock: I appreciate the flawless logic of this plot; if the monster reaches you, it eats you. If the monster eats you, you die. THEREFORE: do not let the monster reach you. Beautiful. The logical design of the machine is a bonus.
My rating, 85%
Rating: 1% + 85% = 86%. Comment: Methodical but dull.
This is Lucas Arts’ latest block-buster based on the familiar Star Wars soundtrack. Looking very much like DOOM, though with completely different graphics & sound, this CD-ROM games is all set to be a hit with people called Samuel (I’m called Simon, but I love it! Why? - Ed.) We haven’t been able to get a copy of Dark Forces, so instead we gave our reviewers a typed data-sheet about the game....

Kirk: I’m afraid I never found time to learn to read. The little picture of E.T. on the sheet we were given looked sexy though, so I assume that the complete game looks brilliant!
I give Dark Forces 80%.
Spock: Fascinating. This alien creature looks like my cousin, George.
69%.
Rating: 80% + 69% = 149%. Comment: Pricey but moist.
NEXT ISSUE WE TRY WINDBREAKER ON THE VIRTUAL ANUS.
